How does Swap One work?

Swap a trip. Log it. See the difference.

Swap One makes it simple to try a lower-carbon way of getting around.

1. Sign up

For individuals, signing up takes about a minute. Once you’re in, weekly prompts make it easy to log your swaps and track your progress.

Businesses can sign up online or simply ask us to get in touch to talk it through first. There’s no obligation at all.

Either way, we’ll help you get up and swapping all the way.

2. Make a swap

Choose a trip you would normally make in a petrol or diesel-fuelled vehicle and try a lower-carbon option instead.

You could walk, cycle, take the eBus, use an eBike or eScooter, carpool, drive an EV or work from home.

3. Log your swap

Record your trip in the Swap One web app. It doesn’t have to be a work commute – it could be a trip to the supermarket, school drop-off, gym, a weekend trip or visiting a friend.

4. Track your impact

Your swaps, kilometres travelled and estimated money saved are tracked throughout the six-month programme, so you can follow your progress, and see the collective impact of Swap One too.

5. Keep going!

Weekly prompts, your results, workplace activities, monthly challenges and prize opportunities help keep things interesting. There are also end-of-programme awards recognising participation and achievements.

Already travel low-carbon?

Great – Swap One is for you too.

If you already walk, cycle, take the eBus, use an eBike or eScooter, carpool or otherwise travel low-carbon, you can log another trip that you might otherwise have made in a petrol or diesel-fuelled vehicle.

The aim isn’t to change everything. It’s to find another opportunity to make a lower-carbon choice.
