Swap One gives businesses a simple, practical way to get their people thinking differently about how they travel – and make sustainable practice part of everyday workplace life – while adding a bit of friendly competition along the way.
Swap One can help bring colleagues together around a shared challenge, encourage sustainable choices in day-to-day life, build positive team spirit and engagement, and ease pressure on crowded workplace car parks by giving people more options for getting to work.
How businesses can get involved
Businesses can tailor their involvement to suit their workplace. Run a focused one-month campaign or take part across the full six-month programme. Use Swap One to celebrate participation and achievements within your team, or make use of the workplace leaderboard to see how you’re tracking against other businesses of a similar size.

What’s new for businesses in Year Two?
All low-carbon trips count
Swap One is opening up in Year Two. People don’t have to be new to low-carbon travel to take part – all low-carbon trips count. So if your employees already low-carbon commute, they can now get involved too.
Business leaderboards
Monthly business leaderboards bring a bit of friendly competition to the programme, showing how participating workplaces are tracking and giving teams something to aim for.
See your workplace impact
Businesses can opt in to receive monthly Swap One employee data, helping you see participation and progress, recognise achievements and understand your workplace’s collective impact. Employees can choose whether their data is shared with their employer.
Swap One Champions
Year Two sees the return of our Swap One Champions programme, celebrating people who are already making lower-carbon travel part of their routine and helping inspire others to give it a go.
